Biochar’s high carbon content and stable structure make it a powerful tool for long-term carbon sequestration, locking carbon in the soil for centuries. Its porous nature enhances water retention, ensuring moisture availability for plants during dry periods. This improved moisture balance, combined with biochar’s ability to enhance soil health, leads to higher yields in agricultural systems. Additionally, the same porous structure provides an ideal microbial habitat, fostering beneficial microbial activity that further improves nutrient cycling and soil fertility.
